Curved Angels Launched a Faster, Lighter Mobile App Experience for Their Loyal Customer Base

Curved Angels has spent over a decade building a trusted brand for plus-size women’s fashion in the Netherlands.

As ecommerce became central to the business, so did their mobile app. Yet their previous app provider was struggling to keep up.

By partnering with MobiLoud, Curved Angels relaunched their app with a cleaner, faster experience that mirrors their website, removes friction in their operation, and puts them in a stronger position for growth in the future.

    Business Impact:

    • Replaced an unresponsive, slow legacy app
    • Preserved brand identity and visual consistency between web and app
    • Reduced operational and support friction
    • Launched a scalable foundation for retention and app-led campaigns

“You guys ticked both boxes — operationally and strategically. You solved the issues we were facing and also helped us think about what’s next.”

    – Pascal Tolenaar, Tech Lead at Curved Angels

    The Roadblock

Providing a functional mobile app for their loyal customers was a priority for the team at Curved Angels.

Before finding MobiLoud, they had an app – but what passed for a decent standard 12-14 years ago wasn’t keeping pace today.

Their app had slowly fallen behind their website, and they were finding more and more instances where it couldn’t support the customizations they made to their WooCommerce site.

The final nail was performance issues – the app was becoming slow and less responsive, all while customer demands were increasing.

“People opening the app had to wait eight to ten seconds before seeing usable content. Nowadays, two seconds is max. People don’t want to wait.”

    Why They Chose MobiLoud

Pascal and the team at Curved Angels needed a new app solution, a way to offer a fast, modern app experience, deeply compatible with their WooCommerce store.

They needed integration with all the existing tools on their website (like Klaviyo), as well as the ability to preserve all the colors, the layout, and the identity of their company.

That’s what MobiLoud offered – a direct conversion of their website to the app, automatically in sync.

From the earliest conversations, the MobiLoud team presented a clear plan: addressing the current performance issues while mapping out future opportunities for engagement, retention, and community-driven features.

Just as important was the human factor.

We presented them an agency-style attention to service, not just another DIY tool with limited support.

“There was a whole team from different parts of the world on the call — it gave me the feeling that you guys are reachable. That’s kind of exceptional nowadays.”

    Launch & Early Results

The relaunch process itself was notably hands-off for Curved Angels.

    MobiLoud handled:

    • App build and QA
    • Store submission
    • Deployment and rollout

Clear documentation guided the few required setup steps, and most of the heavy lifting happened without ongoing involvement from the tech team.

“Normally I always have to be involved… now it was like, ‘Pascal, you pay for us – let us do the job.’”

Following launch, early feedback has been strongly positive:

    • Customers describe the app as lighter, more modern, and faster
    • The app preserves Curved Angels’ brand identity to the pixel
    • Internal teams report reduced friction and fewer support headaches

One recurring theme from customers familiar with the old app:

“It feels lighter. It feels more modern.”

Beyond Performance: Setting Up for Retention

While the initial focus was fixing speed and reliability, Curved Angels is already planning the next phase.

With Klaviyo integrated, the team can now:

    • Run app-specific campaigns
    • Trigger push notifications alongside email flows
    • Launch promotions, discounts, and announcements directly in the app

    Upcoming initiatives include:

    • A “New Year, New Functionality” campaign
    • Integration with a new returns portal
    • Iterative app UI improvements based on early feedback
    • Exploration of future app-exclusive features

The strategy is deliberate: stabilize first, then optimize and expand.

    The Takeaway

Curved Angels’ experience shows that mobile apps don’t fail because customers don’t want them. They fail when performance, reliability, and support fall short.

By relaunching with MobiLoud, Curved Angels replaced a sluggish, fragile app with a modern experience that reflects their brand, supports their operations, and gives them confidence heading into the future.

As Pascal summed it up, speaking to ecommerce brands in a similar position, considering going with MobiLoud:

“Just do it. Don’t overthink things. They have the experience, the knowledge, and the know-how to deliver and go live.”

  • Atlantikos Builds a Mobile App to Power Repeat Purchases for Brazil’s First Vegan Marketplace

Atlantikos Builds a Mobile App to Power Repeat Purchases for Brazil’s First Vegan Marketplace

Atlantikos operates in a fast-growing but highly intentional market, where customers care deeply about trust, sourcing, and product values.

With almost all of their traffic coming from mobile, and a high repeat purchase rate, launching a mobile app had long been a priority – but never felt attainable.

With MobiLoud, Atlantikos finally found a way to turn their mobile-optimized marketplace into a smooth, flexible app without rebuilding its entire tech stack.

    Snapshot

VerticalOnline marketplace (Vegan & sustainable products)

    PlatformWooCommerce

    Business Impact:

    • Successfully launched a mobile app without custom development
    • Replaced an underperforming local app solution
    • Established push notifications as a core retention channel

“It’s smooth, clean and efficient. That’s the goal and that’s what a user wants to see.”

    -Raphael Schaffer, Founder, Atlantikos

    The Roadblock

Atlantikos had strong product-market fit, with a business model built around repeat purchases, and regular customers who loved the platform. But there was one missing piece: an app.

Customers were already buying frequently and repeatedly, especially everyday products like food. Many explicitly asked for a mobile app to make it easier to come back and buy their weekly staples.

And with 92% of their website visitors on mobile, an app was an obvious priority.

However, building a native app wasn’t realistic. Their team of WooCommerce developers didn’t have experience with mobile apps, and the cost of a full custom build was far too much.

They first tried launching an app with a local app provider. Unfortunately, the app didn’t live up to their expectations. It lacked key integrations, offered limited push notifications, couldn’t be customized, and performance wasn’t up to the level of their website.

“Since we already had this good mobile experience, we thought that we were ready to find a solution that could transform this browser experience into an excellent app.”

    Why They Chose MobiLoud

Atlantikos didn’t need a reinvented experience. They didn’t need an app built from the ground up with all-new bells and whistles.

They just needed their existing website, turned into a mobile app.

    MobiLoud stood out by offering:

    • Full WooCommerce compatibility
    • Full push notification capability
    • Deep segmentation and abandoned cart notifications
    • Flexibility to customize navigation and menus
    • Responsive, reliable support

After a disappointing experience elsewhere, delivery and support mattered just as much as features.

As Raphael, the company’s founder put it:

“You guys are really offering what you promised. We’re very happy with everything we’re seeing.”

    Launch & Results

The biggest win was simply launching a mobile app that lived up to their expectations, that fit within their budget and operational constraints.

In the early days after launch, it was clear that:

    • The app experience closely matched Atlantikos’ expectations
    • Navigation, menus, and performance felt smooth, clean, and efficient
    • The groundwork is in place for daily push notifications, segmented by product category and customer behavior

With over 7,000 products and highly distinct customer cohorts, push notifications are expected to become a key driver of repeat purchases, with greater effectiveness and lower cost than other channels.

    The Takeaway

Atlantikos proves that mobile apps aren’t just for mass-market ecommerce.

For niche marketplaces with high repeat behavior, strong mobile traffic, and a loyal customer base, an app becomes the natural next step. Not a risky experiment.

“An app makes sense for an ecommerce brand that sells a lot of products, has high recurrence, and already has a good mobile experience. It’s a next step when you already have something validated in terms of business, sales, and product.”

With MobiLoud, Atlantikos didn’t need to be able to afford an expensive custom solution, to be able to launch an app built for scale, segmentation, and long-term retention.

They had the core user experience already, they had the customer base. MobiLoud added the finishing touches, with an app that gave them a more direct connection to their loyal shoppers.

  • GameLoot Transformed Their Mobile User Experience by Launching a Mobile App

GameLoot Transformed Their Mobile User Experience by Launching a Mobile App

With the vast majority of GameLoot’s traffic coming on mobile, there’s nothing more important to them than the mobile user experience.

Their smartphone users needed a better way to navigate their store. Their analysis, and the feedback they were getting from real users, was that they needed an app. But as a bootstrapped company, Gameloot didn’t have the budget to go all out and build a mobile development team.

Instead, they found MobiLoud, which was the perfect solution. MobiLoud let them convert their existing website to an app, with small changes that went a long way to improve mobile UX.

We talked to GameLoot’s co-founder about their experience, why they needed an app, and how MobiLoud helped them launch an app, grow their brand and streamline the shopping experience for GameLoot customers.

    Why GameLoot Needed an App

For some time, GameLoot’s customers had been asking about an app. The Indian market is app-centric, and consumers are used to using apps for all kinds of products and services.

“It’s become an app world in India, there’s an app for everything, literally everything. You have to go to a doctor, you can install an app of a doctor and book an appointment, that person gets a notification and he’ll approve the appointment via the app.”

Their need for an app went deeper than this, however.

When GameLoot started, they dealt exclusively with PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo products (games and consoles).

But as they grew, they started adding more product categories, as well as complementary services.

Today, they sell new and pre-owned gaming consoles, games, electronics, smart phones, PCs and laptops, digital products, as well as running a repair service.

With all these elements to their business – buy, sell, repair, plus multiple product categories – mobile users were getting confused.

“It becomes more user friendly for the customer. If you want to sell something, they can just click on the sell button in the app and go to the sell category. And if they want to buy something, they can go straight to the buy category. Before the app, it was a bit confusing. When we saw the tab menu in the app, I realized it becomes very easy for customers to choose between ‘buy’, ‘sell’, ‘repair’”.

Just a small change in the app would make the user experience much more straightforward. And with 70-80% of their traffic coming on mobile, a small improvement could have a huge positive impact.

    The Challenge

As mentioned earlier, GameLoot is a bootstrapped company, with no outside funding.

Profitability is important to them, and they don’t have the means to go out and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a custom mobile app.

Initial research into app development solutions showed that if they went the custom route, not only would it mean incurring a huge cost, but they wouldn’t see their app for a long time.

“The development time was very long. We were told it will take a minimum of six months just to get the app ready for a demo, maybe, and to go live it will take eight to ten months.”

There were cheaper options, but dealing with cheaper developers meant they wouldn’t get ongoing support for the app, or that it wouldn’t be compatible with their business.

“If you see what kind of business we do, it’s very complex. It’s not a straightforward eCommerce website, where you just list products and start selling. We have a buy section. We have a sell section. We have a repair section.”

“I was also trying to get in touch with some freelancers, where they could do it for us for a one-time cost. But I realized an app is something which requires support on a monthly basis, on a weekly basis.”

    The Solution

GameLoot’s co-founder was turned on to another eCommerce business, who had built an app that was fully integrated and synchronized with their website.

He did some searching to find a company that could do this for them, within their budget and time constraints.

This search brought him to MobiLoud. He soon discovered that MobiLoud could do exactly what they needed.

They would be able to create an app from their existing website, with the small touches like a tab menu that would go a long way.

Best of all, it wouldn’t take 8-10 months to launch, and wouldn’t cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

They could continue to manage everything from their website, without hiring mobile app developers or making wholesale changes to their business.

The Result: Hundreds of New App Users Each Day

Since making the decision to launch an app, GameLoot has seen a profoundly positive impact on their business.

Mobile users have taken to the app in large numbers, validating their assumption that many customers would prefer to use an app.

“The response has been really good. We have seen a spike in traffic and sales. We have around 20,000 downloads in one month. Daily we’re getting around 700 new users. By our calculations, we should touch 100,000 in the next three months.”

And from the snapshot provided by their app store reviews, these users are more than happy with the user experience on the app.

    __wf_reserved_inherit

On top of these metrics, they’re seeing many higher-level benefits of having an app. Having an app has provided more authority for their brand, and made it easier for them to grow through referrals and word-of-mouth.

“It’s easier when you can tell someone, just download the app called GameLoot. You don’t have to remember the domain name, you don’t have to go to Google and look for the right website. You just need to know the brand name and then just go to the app store and search for it.”

Another huge benefit has been access to push notifications. Push has given them a far more effective communication channel, which resonates more with their target audience.

“A push notification is something people will not miss. When we send SMS, a lot of numbers are blocked in India. Emails go in the spam folder, or Gmail has a promotion folder, which is kind of hidden.”

“If you look at our target group of 18 to 25 year olds, they prefer push notifications. We already got feedback from a customer. We have a section on our website which says notify me, where you put an email on the product which is out of stock, and once it’s in stock, you get an email. Customers were like, why are you sending me an email? I don’t check my emails, just notify me via the app.”

Get All the Benefits of an App, With None of the Risk

By launching an app you can:

    • Improve your mobile user experience.
    • Enter the app stores, adding a new user acquisition channel and building authority and trust for your brand.
    • Get access to super-effective communication tools like push notifications.

Many companies think the cost, time investment and complexity to build and maintain an app is an insurmountable hurdle.

But with MobiLoud, as long as you have a fast, responsive and mobile-friendly website, you can launch your own app for a minor cost, and with little to no risk.

MobiLoud converts your existing website into an app, which is all that most eCommerce businesses need.

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel when you launch an app. Just being able to package your website as an app, get into the app stores and start using native push notifications is enough to boost your revenue and deliver a positive ROI.

The best part is that it takes almost no work to maintain – your apps update automatically with your website, and you can use your existing web development team to manage your apps.

“My IT guy is very happy. It’s easy for him to manage because he is a CSS guy. He did a lot of changes in the app for us, it was very easy for him to understand the whole layout and how to do things in the app.”

“The good thing about MobiLoud is that even if you are doing a small change on your website, it immediately reflects on the app. So we don’t have to go through the whole process of submitting a build and then waiting for the build to go live. I just did a minor change on the website and it’s already reflected on the app. It could be anything, it could be a design change, a feature or anything.”

GameLoot is one of over 2,000 businesses who realized how easy it is to build and maintain high-quality mobile apps with MobiLoud.

You can do the same for your eCommerce business – just get in touch with us and book a free demo to find out.

  • MobiLoud Helped Kazderni Generate 400k Downloads and Dominate their Market

MobiLoud Helped Kazderni Generate 400k Downloads and Dominate their Market

Booking app Kazderni had a great idea to make a splash in app-centric Lebanon. But they ran into roadblocks in the app development process that threatened to hold them back, or worse, derail them completely.

They’re now the #1 travel and tourism app in Lebanon, and have done so without taking on the cost and complexity of developing and maintaining native apps.

We talked to Mohamad, Kazderni’s CEO, about their journey, and how MobiLoud helped them reach the top.

Kazderni’s Story: Launching an Airbnb-Type App for the Lebanon Market

Kazderni is an Airbnb-style booking app specifically designed for the Lebanese market, leveraging the country’s unique geography and tourism appeal.

The app allows users to find and book guesthouses, as well as restaurants, taxis and a wide variety of activities in the country.

Naturally, a business like this is designed to be mobile-first. They needed people to be able to find and access Kazderni via the web, but the market in Lebanon leaned heavily in favor of apps, so launching and maintaining a high-quality app was priority number one moving forward.

    The Challenge

Mohamad faced a tough decision on how to move forward with developing the app.

The marketing plan and roadmap were both app-first. However, he recognized that building mobile apps, even using cross-platform frameworks like Flutter and React Native, was so much more complex than building apps on the web.

“My case is very unique because a lot of what I needed had to be custom made. I know how complex it is to build apps. As an example, a sign-in module needs a week of development and testing. But I can install a plugin on WordPress and it’s done.”

To complicate matters further, Mohamad’s team from an earlier development attempt had failed him, leaving him in a hole and with a tight timeline to get a product out there.

    The Solution

Mohamad’s day-to-day was overflowing with the tasks of running his team, and managing the app.

He knew he couldn’t manage two teams (one for the web and one for the app). And with the complexity and time investment it took to build and maintain apps, the only option forward was to keep working from the website and find a way to convert that into an app.

“I thought, the easiest way is if I can find a WordPress theme that does what I need, and find a way to reliably turn it into an app. I found 20, 30 companies that did this. I read some reviews, I talked to some of them. And, I’ll be honest with you, MobiLoud was easily the most expensive. But I knew some of them didn’t work, and some of them were kind of, ‘you’re on your own.’ Something went wrong, the app store changed a particular library? Best of luck to you, you had to figure that out on your own.”

The hybrid app approach allowed for faster development, easier maintenance, and the ability to leverage existing WordPress plugins and features.

As mentioned, there were many options that did this for WordPress sites, but most made big claims, flaunted attractive pricing, but would lead to headaches down the road.

MobiLoud proved the best solution to turn their web app into mobile apps, coming with the support and care they needed, to be able to focus exclusively on one set of code, without the extra complexity that came with managing an app.

    __wf_reserved_inherit

Leading Their Market with 400k+ Downloads

So far, Kazerni’s WordPress to app strategy has worked incredibly well.

Within two years of launching, they have more than 400,000 downloads, putting them at the top of their market.

“17 apps in Lebanon do what we do. We have more downloads than all of them combined.”

Their average session time of roughly eight and a half minutes is more than many other high-profile apps, and this level of engagement is proof that they lose nothing by not building a standalone native app.

All the Benefits of Web and App

Much of the app’s success is down to simplifying their development process, and being able to iterate and build features far quicker than they could with traditional mobile app development.

“Flutter is near-native on both Android and iOS, and you can easily make a web replica of it. But it’s not even about that, it’s about these native core features and how difficult it is to develop them on any framework, in comparison to an existing WordPress or Shopify website.”

Instead of spending weeks building and testing each feature for the app, they’re able to leverage the significantly faster development workflow with WordPress and WooCommerce and the ecosystem of tools they provide.

With MobiLoud, they can build features for the web in a fraction of the time, and have these features seamlessly carry over to their mobile apps.

“The web market is just so much more mature, and it’s so much easier to build a website than it is to build an app. The web business has a 25-year head start on the app business. And there isn’t the complexity of having to build for Android and iOS and then build for the web.”

Launch an App Without the Headache

Kazderni’s business model is app-first, and MobiLoud allowed them to live up to this without getting into the murky waters of native app development.

They now have an app that gives them a new level of credibility – credibility they’ve parlayed not just into new users, but also key partnerships that move their business forward, and have them thinking about expanding into neighboring markets.

Mohamad describes an app as “the ultimate piece of free marketing” – a billboard that sits on the user’s phone all day, and helps set them apart from the free for all of the booking app market.

MobiLoud was the catalyst that let them do it, in a short space of time and with none of the headaches that come from juggling multiple platforms.

If you think the time is right to enter the mobile app market, get in touch with us. No matter what platform you’re on, no matter what your goals, MobiLoud will help you build amazing apps while adding virtually nothing to your operational workflow.

  • How MobiLoud Helped The Flowery Gain an Edge in a Highly Regulated Industry

How MobiLoud Helped The Flowery Gain an Edge in a Highly Regulated Industry

Ecommerce businesses in highly regulated industries have to contend with a lot of hurdles, as Florida-based medical cannabis store The Flowery knows very well.

They came to MobiLoud to help ship a mobile app that would give them an owned channel they could use to cultivate their customer base and expand their business.

Learn how we helped them begin the next stage of their business by launching their own mobile app.

    The Challenge

Because of the regulatory hurdles they have to deal with, and the complexities of their industry, the ecommerce side of The Flowery’s business has a lot of moving parts.

Their site is a custom-built headless WooCommerce site, which is essentially a web app rather than a static online store.

Their tech stack and setup allows them to do a lot of things that set them apart from other cannabis stores in their market, such as the ability for customers to store their medical card information and for the site to automatically pull up and validate this info whenever the customer makes a purchase.

So they would need a mobile app solution that worked with their unique tech stack.

Another key reason to do an app was push notifications.

The Flowery are trying to recreate the “Uber Eats experience” and give regular delivery updates to provide a great experience each time someone buys from them.

Email wouldn’t work for this, as it’s not “instant” enough. And they ran into problems with SMS, as mobile carriers would throttle them, due to the industry they’re in.

That left push notifications as the best option. Like a mainstream delivery app, they wanted something that could send notifications directly to the customer’s home screen to give them a direct line to their delivery status, to the minute.

For that, they needed an app.

And in the end, the greatest challenge was doing all this with minimal technical background. As their CEO told us:

“At the end of the day, The Flowery is not a tech startup. We’re a factory. We’re a cannabis company. We’re just leveraging technology.”

Companies like The Flowery usually don’t have mobile app development experience in-house, which means outsourcing development, which adds a new level of complexity.

That’s why a lot of ecommerce companies call MobiLoud to help.

    The Solution

“I know there’s other companies that do the same thing but only for Shopify, but you’re probably the only one that I found that does it for WooCommerce/WordPress.”

MobiLoud fit everything The Flowery needed. We were able to build an app with their complicated tech stack, letting them bring all their custom features into the app, which nearly any other app builder would struggle to do.

We also came with push notifications included out of the box, and handled all the work for them, letting their team’s focus remain on maintaining their web app.

    Results

The Flowery mobile app built by MobiLoud

There was skepticism. Their CEO was unsure that the project would work out, and had a feeling that the app would not get app store approval and would die before going live.

“My main concern was just that I’m going to invest a lot of time in it and I want to make sure that it goes live. I don’t want it to be a sunk cost, like you invest and invest and then it never goes live. I was super skeptical that we could get this out and that’s why I honestly wasn’t too invested in it because I didn’t think we were going to get it approved.”

However, we were able to navigate all the app stores’ requirements and get their app up and running with no hitches at all.

We’ve helped them tweak their app to look and feel the way they want, even being able to add small touches to provide an experience unique to their website.

All this with no dev work from their team. We gave them more than just an app; we gave them a mobile app team that they can call on at any time.

It’s still early days for their app, and they’re in the very early stages of rolling it out to their customer list.

But it’s given them a new range of possibilities for the future direction of their business.

Launch Your App With MobiLoud Today

“The investment is minimal, and it’s worth spending $700 and waiting two months to see if you can get an app. It’s the best value for money that you can get, no doubt, it’s the fastest way to go to market.”

We did for The Flowery what we’ve done for more than 2,000 successful businesses – helped them ship an app in less than a month, without spending hundreds of thousands on development, without sacrificing key features from their website, and without adding a crippling maintenance load to keep the apps running.

If you want to do the same, and have your very own app in the app stores in as little as two weeks, get in touch with us today.

  • Impact Wholesale Launches a 5-Star App with MobiLoud

Impact Wholesale Launches a 5-Star App with MobiLoud

B2B retailer Impact Wholesale was looking for a way to elevate their business. That way was to launch an app, making their ordering process more streamlined, increasing retention and building long-term professional relationships with their customers.

The problem was their technical team had no experience in app development. They needed a way to build and maintain their app that wouldn’t take extensive work or investment. That’s where MobiLoud came in.

    About Impact Wholesale

Bay Area-based Impact is one of the industry leaders in the US for providing quality and cost effective point of sale, cash register, ATM, and printer supplies to customers in the retail industry.

Impact provides products like paper and toner, carryout containers, gloves, napkins, straws, cleaning supplies and more. For a business like this, ease of ordering for the customer is vital, as Impact wants it to be simple and stress-free any time a retailer needs to re-up on supplies.

That’s what brought them to the decision to launch an app.

    The Challenge

Developer Mitch Free outlined why launching an app was not exactly straightforward for their technical team.

“We’ve primarily been WordPress focused, and I’ve always been focused mostly on websites and marketing and I never really got into the app side of things because it just wasn’t something I could plug into from day one.”

App development is not something you can learn with a 2-week crash course. Their team was skilled in building and running websites, not apps.

To launch an app, they would either need to spend big on hiring outside developers, or find another solution.

    The Solution

Not wanting to dive into the expensive mire of hiring and managing app developers, Mitch went looking for simpler solutions.

Some options just seemed too good to be true, offering the ability to create an app for relative pennies. While he was looking for something affordable, the incredibly low price point was a red flag.

“I don’t remember the name of it, but I remember it was too cheap. It was going to be about $10 a month with $50 upfront. I was like, yeah, I don’t think I’m going to get much for that.”

Then Mitch found the ideal solution in our tech-enabled service, MobiLoud.

We offered a way to turn their website into an app, converting everything they have to the app while maintaining only one back end.

“Turning our website into an app was perfect for us because it meant managing just one store, but being able to say we have an app and connect with customers who wanted an app experience.”

All this came at an affordable, but realistic price point which, combined with our extensive collection of case studies, was enough to give Mitch the confidence to move forward with the project.

Though it’s still early days for their app, they’ve got a rating of 4.8 out of 5 on the App Store, with all but one of their reviews giving the app a 5 star rating. Impact customers clearly love the app, which means the company loves it too.

The company loves what they get from their app, which does everything the website does, but in a way that builds a stronger relationship with their customers.

“Having an app staring at them on their phone screen versus having to type in a URL, it’s just a lot stickier.”

Behind the scenes, managing their app is easy, despite having zero app experience in-house, with the above and beyond service they get from the MobiLoud team.

“You guys have supported us anytime we’ve had an issue, and you’re quick to fix it or address it or make whatever tweaks we need to make. I feel like that’s a big part of what you bring to the table.”

Why You’re Almost Guaranteed a Positive ROI with MobiLoud

Traditionally, building a mobile app has been extremely risky. With custom apps costing as much as a hundred thousand dollars or more, you had to be sure the app would make a massive impact on your business to be confident you’re going to get a positive ROI.

With MobiLoud, that risk is almost non-existent. It can cost less than four figures upfront to launch your app, with minimal effort required and a time frame of less than a month from start to finish.

You only need a minimal increase in business from the app to end up in the positive, and realistically most eCommerce stores will get a much bigger return than that.

“If you have the client base built up and you have enough traffic and customers, then the monthly fee [for MobiLoud] is going to be irrelevant because if you do the app right, it’s gonna pay you back a hundred times that, easy.”

If you’ve got an eCommerce store making steady revenue, there’s virtually zero downside to launching your own app with MobiLoud. You’ll boost your brand authority, get access to the full power of push notifications and increase key metrics like average order value, conversion rate and retention – all for a negligible investment.

JF Petroleum Achieves 40% Adoption From Their MobiLoud Apps

JF Petroleum wanted to increase their digital interaction with their customers, making it easier for customers in today’s highly digital world.

The first step was an ecommerce site. The second was to launch mobile apps.

MobiLoud helped them do it, in a way that was risk-free and easy to manage. Best of all, it worked – finally giving them the perfect app to fit their needs.

    About JF Petroleum Group

JF Petroleum sells gas to gas stations and other fueling stations and storage facilities. They also provide equipment, do the construction, environmental compliance and sell all the pieces and parts needed to distribute fuel.

They operate across the continental United States, and sell to Canada and Mexico as well. Their company currently has a headcount of over 1400, and have been steadily growing through a number of recent acquisitions.

    The Challenge

“We had recently launched an e-commerce site and we’re moving towards digital interaction with our customers. We felt like an app was an easy way for us to be right there on their device,  make it accessible for our customers and contractors and have push notifications about things that are going on.”

As Vice President of IT Brent Stimmel states above, JF Petroleum was becoming more digital, and the logical next step after launching their ecommerce site was to launch mobile apps.

The first challenge was figuring out how to build an app without an app development team in-house. They had proficiency in building websites, but not the ability to code their own app.

So they looked at app builders. But the results weren’t great, and the apps that came out of it struggled to pass the app store publishing process.

“I had used several other companies, similar to MobiLoud, and just didn’t have a very good experience with getting the apps approved in the App Stores.”

Brent needed a way to build apps that the app stores would approve, without the hassle and expense of hiring a fully native development team.

    The Solution

MobiLoud presented the perfect solution for Brent and JF Petroleum.

The big differentiator between MobiLoud and other app builders they’d use was that we can guarantee app store approval. We do that based on our vast experience of publishing apps to the iOS Store and Google Play, and working within their guidelines throughout the development process.

“The thing that sold us with MobiLoud was that you said that if we build this app and we can’t get it in the App Store, you don’t have to pay.”

This guarantee made it totally risk-free for them. Should the app not work, should it not pass the app store guidelines, they would lose nothing.

“We’re like oh, we’ve got nothing to lose. It’s a couple of thousand bucks to get an app up, and if it doesn’t work then we don’t have to pay.”

The other huge plus of MobiLoud was the ability to build and manage the app through their mobile website.

The MobiLoud app simply displays their website as an app, with a few minor adjustments. That meant they had almost full control over the app design, without the limitations of many app builders.

“We weren’t limited by the app builder. We could just display our mobile web page inside of an app wrapper. Our marketing team could build the website however they wanted and it would just display in the app. We love that.”

It also made it so much easier to manage the app going forward, allowing their existing web dev team to make changes and have it reflect on the app.

“When we want to change something, we only have to change our mobile website and boom, it’s live on the app.”

The JF Petro app was easily approved by both Google Play and the Apple App Store.

As adoption goes, it’s been picked up by a large portion of their customers. Brent and the team are happy with the pickup and reception to the app, which is being used by approximately 40% of their customer base.

“We’ve been very happy with the adoption rate. We’re around 4000 installs and about 10,000 sessions over the past year. We’re never gonna have millions of downloads because it’s just not our customer base. But it’s a substantial portion of our customer base, probably about 40%.”

Building an app that does what they wanted it to do, with minimal investment and little to add to their workflow, was a huge win.
